Fe 14 Crowned County Football Champions

Fe 14 Crowned County Football Champions

Nemo fe 14's brigded a six year gap to capture a underage County Title for the Club on Sat when they defeated Valley Rovers in the County A Football Championship Final on a scoreline of 4-8 to 3-7. It was a victory that had its seeeds sown with an excellent display of football that was a treat to see, with fast flowing movement and support play. The second half saw Valley lift their game and Nemo withstood sustained pressure before the decisive score to put up a four point gap with time running out.

Championship Semi Final wins for 14's and 16's

Nemo's fe 16 Hurlers and fe14 Footballers played Championship this week, both teams winning and progress to their respective Championship finals. The Fe 16's will play St. Finbarr's in the City Final and will also progress to the County Hurling Championship as well. While the Fe 14's with their win over Aghada advance to play Valley Rovers in the fe14 County Football Final.

Fe 14 bow out of Féile Peil

Nemo played local rivals Douglas in the Feile Peil “A” County Final on Saturday last in Pairc Uí Rionn. Nemo had prepared well with good wins against St. Finbarr’s and Sam McGuires in the Féile competition. Nemo lost the toss and played against the wind in the first half. Nemos defence came under intence pressure from the Douglas forwards and mid-fielders right from the start off the game. Douglas were 1-2 up after a short period of the game before Nemo got their opening score with a point from Andrew Forde.

Mixed fortunes for Feile Hurlers and Footballers

The past week saw mixed fortunes for our Feile Hurlers and Footballers. The Hurlers played Mayfield in the City Semi Final in CIT on Wednesday 14th April. The first half was a very tight afair. Mayfield started well and opened up a trhee point lead after ten minutes beforefore Nemo settled. Two points from Andrew Forde narrowed the gap to a point. both sides exchanged points leaving the minimum between the sides at the break. Nemo rueing missed opportunies that could have seen the in the lead, however.
